First of all - how many of you are up on your French. Do you know what "exanguanation" is. it means the draining of all blood. Today Dr. Levy showed up when I absolutely least expected him. I was running the coffee grounds through again with one added spoon. I had just turned on Days of our Lives, which was on and an exciting episode, too. But I knew "money before pleasure". I did get money from him today. He had this poem he wanted to recite on the dignity of work in the Carl Sanburg tradition. Which was fine except he heightened the notion of a closed factory being because of "this latest recession when occupy Wall Street was in force" and of course managed to drag President Obama into it saying that "because of him this factory is closed" though I think this poem may have been written thirty years ago or something during the "Allan Town" song era. And then there was talk about the high speed railroad in California and I was listening closely to the remarks doing my best to hold my tongue on this whole matter. And then people chimed in with "You know the high speed railroad is just a waste of time" and Dr. Levy quickly agreed. "We just haven't got the money". I'd had it. I said "If we were living in Roosevelt's day nothing would have gotten done because we'd be making too many excuses. Not the TVA and not Hoover Dam". I have a rather different definition of "Exestentialism" than they do. My system is "The science of what really Exist and what really does NOT exist". But normally it's tied to this downer "Life is meaningless and there is no hope" doctrine, that is utterly draining to the psyche. As far as I can see if you want something really "pointless" - - extentialism qualifies. There is this whole idea that God is this father figure whom we live for and have to please and now that we have discovered he doesn't exist we are depressed about it so all we can do (and collaberators like Chuck Smith agree) is just sit around and bemoan our hopelessness. As to this whole fear of death thing it is a completely Dysfunctional and non productive philosophy. Do you think young kids or even teenagers worry about the idea "My life may not last forever. Perhaps I'm not immortal". That's silly. Kids just have better horse sense than to worry about anything so distant to their "Now" and that they can't do anything about anyhow. That is the alcholic's prayer you know. The courage to deal with the here and now- - and not sweat the stuff you have no control over- - and the wisdom to know the difference. Dr. Levy had a very good reason for not being here last Thursday. And I have money now for two packs of cigarettes. And I am always grateful to him for that. I'm tempted to be grateful to "God" too. And if God wants me to show him gratitude than I am. But as I say, I really don't think God even bothers with human emotions. Besides - if God really WERE a good parent figure, then he'd realize that there comes a time in a person's life when they have to think on their own. (Selah) But it never hurts to have a sense of gratitude twords anyone who has served to make yours a better life- - and I suppose that even included the military though for the Life of me I can't see how killing a few Al Qaeda over on the next ridge will make lives here in America better. But everybody needs to be gratitude for the work other professions contribute twords making your life in America more pleasent, even the waiter who got your order wrong at Denny's this morning. As Dr. Levy points out, "All work has dignity" and I'd like to give a strong Amen to that statement. And now we'll get on with the previously scheduled program.
Don't mind her. I think she's just auditioning for the cover of "A Hard Day's Night", or something.
1. This is a big one so choose wisely. What is by FAR the WORST song the Cherrels ever put out?
2. Who is the more attractive woman - - Brittany Speers or Jenifer Lopez?
3. If you were forty back in 1965 which woman would you seek to date if you had your pick - - Jayne Mansfield or Elizabeth Taylor?
4. Who is the more tallented artist? Brian Johnson or Bon Scott?
5. Which Singer has more personal charisma - - Sammy Hagar or David Lee Roth.
6. If a gun was put to your head, which Presidential Candidate would you vote for - - Mitt Romney or Pat Buchannon?
7. In that vintage X and 0 analogy we "revived" in our last posting. How do you view the world? As an X or as an 0. In chess methodology I was one and Bill T was the other, but I learned from Him and became a better player but still never lost my basic "proclivity".
8. Which is more important to you. "Doing things right" or "Doing the right Things"?
9. Do you believe in a marriage "Little white lies" are essential in maintaining a good relation between the sexes?
10. What "subliminal message" is carried in the songs "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" and "Venus" (the old Frankie Avalong Song) that makes this songs so "subliminally appealing for those looking for a steady, long lasting relationship they can trust in?

We're pretty much "Old School' around here. A month or so I promoted 92 JAM from number twelve to number five on my radio. I guess if this were "Snake Pit" that would be making progress. In terms of that Mark and Brian technology quiz, also of ten questions, I pretty much flunk that one. I still use a land line. Why should you pay money for unreliable servace that cuts out at the wrong time, and the sound isn't as good. I also use a desk top computer. I still play CD's and played "High Voltage" this morning. I am slowly making a couple of concessions to the future. Digital radio on line is better and those headphones actually work. The headphones to my radio are pretty much shot, and there is no static on line, which is nice. I sometimes watched an extra episode of "Family Guy" or my soap opera when I'm at Dr. Levy's class on a Monday, or last year I watched most of "24" on line. And I do catch Face the Nation or other news shows such as Hardball on line. I guess the only question that I pass unquestionably with flying colors is that I DON"T have an AOL e mail address. On rare occasions I will take a glance at their site. "Low Riders" is coming on right now.

ZAC Tarot Cards that have been Changed since inception in spring of 1978. This is kind of a "Historic review". When George Burnes in the Oh God movie looked at that "theological proficiency test written in Ameriac- - he responded, "Oh, it's a history test".
THE DEATH CARD Of course Celesste is technically right about Death not always being bad, but in the context of most Tarot spreads, make no mistake, it usually is bad. Can you name the group that Judas Priest replaced as the original pick in 1978? We have named it.
THE HIGH PRIESTESS This one is simple. Just name the group we replaced Ted Nugent with.
THE MAGICIAN OK just name the "origional group" at slot number 17 prior to the Grateful Dead
THE SUN For a while instead of the Jefferson Airplane we use another spin off artist who is (or was) the lead guitarist for another Band on this list. Can you name him?
THE TOWER This is now a "shared" card. Bruce Springsteen has to "share this' position with Whom now?
THE DEVIL Name the origional spring 1978 group you-know-who wanted but I said my choice was more marketable. The odd thing is that HIS group actually was the one who set up MY pick for their first gig at the Whiskey in 1976. As you know this group was replaced by Pink Floyd around 1981.
