They say the price of freedom is association with nuts. Well, Gene Scott is the nuttiest of the nutty. In 1978 he had this wind-up Monkey Band playing on his show all the time to denote government beaurocrats, whom he said were the Missing Link. He spoke of the Four Horns of Power (of government) that was arrayed against him and even had an artist conception painting of it. His mission was presumably to financially rescue Faith Center. Instead he merely appropiated the assets of Faith Center and made them his own. I believe he did this in mid 1979 when he told his viewers no longer to direct their money to Faith Center but address all contricutions payable to Gene Scott.

In 1980 he really featured a lot of demonology in his sermons, based largely on the dubious chapter eleven of Daniel, which most scollars agree was back-dated. In mid 1981 he began to talk about Cecil Rhodes and Rhodes scollars and how evil they were because they believed in the Kennedy axiom "A society unwilling to help the many who are poor cannot save the few who are rich". Gene rejected any sort of theology that involved the helping of poor people. Gene would speak of the Catholic Church and its treasures almost enviously, like they're the one entity that's got what he wants. Gene would speak of gold embossed cathedrals standing next to shanty shacks and the only people who would complain about the inequity are in this country. Gene would allign himself with Tom Bradley to such an extent that he tought that the LA Times had no rights of any kind to run an editorial against him. He would sometimes take up the cause of some protestor group of dubious background, and if you didn't support it, he would hang up on you. He taught his people who manned the phones to be mean and hang up on anybody that wasn't contributing money. He would often make threats he'd go out of business tonight if he didn't have a pledge totalling thirty thousand in the next half hour.

Gene got weirder as time passed. He got into Anglo-Isrialisum in late 1981. These people believe that people in the Brittish Empire are really the lost tribes of Isrial- -and he says Brit-ish really means "Covenant man" because brit, or briss, is the word for circumcision. Gene would often speak with glowing envy about British Royalty.

Gene Scott got even weirder when he began to say there were mystories in the Great Pyramid. He fixated on the number 2520 and said that this many years from when Babylon took over Judah, in 539 BC, some glorious event would happen and would kind of lead people to believe this event would occur in 1985. Others who studied the Great Pyramid said that glorious events were herolded by the year 2001.

Gene then got into the stars. He got books I've seen nowhere else talking about not only the Zodiac signs but also "decands" or three auxiliary constellations that go with the basic zodiac constellations. He taught that the astrological year started with Virgo and ended up with Leo, or Jesus Christ coming back as the Lion of Judah. He also spoke of the Red Lion referring to the Zerahites, or children of the scarlet thread that Tammar tied around the hand of her son Zerah, when he was born.

Gene then began talking about "Secrets". There was secret one, and then secret two and they kept mounting up. He developed an obcession to take over the Church of the Open Door. He wanted it named a historical monument. He failed at this and in late 1988 some time the wrecking ball won. Gene then began selling paintings in some gigantic art scam. He would sell his own paintings for sometimes hundreds of dollars and he would use the money to buy horses for his new horse ranch. He would now often show shots of his horses. Next Gene developed an affinity for the LA library after that terrible fire. He now made a judgement call and abondoned the gospell music people like me tuned in to hear to be edified, and began playing secular songs like "Key to the Highway" by Claptin. He would speak of the need to "be one of them" in order to get their money. Gene began getting cozy with many politicians such as Tom Bradley- - one of the most self-obcessed people I've come accross.

And then in 1989 Gene bought this theater on Broadway in Los Angeles. He now began "dissing" the old Church of the Open Door saying now that he was lucky not to have that building. Finally Gene, who had been divorced, married his horse trainer, Christine. Their marriage didn't last that long however because he was unfaithful to her and began taking up with Melissa. During this period his father died, and in my oppinion Gene began acting a lot wierder after "Ted's" passing. He'd have Melissa singing on songs. Her background was in pornographic movies so she knew how to put on an act. She was in her twenties when Gene was in his sixties.

When Gene Scott died- - it was of song lingering cancer that probably produced a painful death. All of Gene's money couldn't help him. Gene had been prophisied over by Claire Grace in 1967 and five points were made. Number three was that other people in Christianity would come to look to Gene as a guiding light house- - by which they would take their doctrinal bearings. Point four was Gene's Church would feature healings, because "all the others were doing it". Point five, and by far the falsest of the five, is that "A note of joy would come into Gene Scott's ministry that had never been there before". This five point prophecy pretty much fell on its face when Gene Scott died over a year ago. Yes sir-ree!

It doesn't end there. Now when you log onto Gene's web site they act as if Gene is still alive and have a thing on their web site "Listen live", as if Gene were actually still preaching. One guy had on his blog site "I have a theory that Gene Scott has actually been dead since 1976 and that he has just been recycling tapes". His wife, with her background in pornography, I call the Pornographic Priestess- - -she is the one who heads up the church now! Supposedly she goes into rants on camera just like Gene did and has taken over his mantel asking for money. Gene Scott had a divotional area to Bibles present and past in the lobby of his church. Now we learn that his wife, Melissa, has taken all that Bible stuff out and put in the monkey band, and bumper stickers praising Gene's work. She wants this to be Gene's legasy.

I find it worth noting that the only reference people make to Gene Scott that are at all favorible are that he is "amusing" - -the way a two year old child is amusing even when he does things he shouldn't- - and people say they like to listen to Gene Scott late at night and get stoned. Gene's audience now are a bunch of loadies!

If there were anything else going on today I'd be talking about that and not Gene Scott. There are questions you people might have about me, and I'd like to endeavor to answer them sometime. Gene often said "Pay for what the teaching is worth" and I have often said "If I paid according to the spiritual edification his teaching has given me I'd be taking money out of the pot instead of putting money in".
