Do Bees and Don't Bees

This is December 31, 2016 and tomorrow is the New Year and a lot of “agregious” laws go into effect in the state of California.  There are new regulations on Uber drivers.  The statewide minimum wage goes up which for a lot of people is seemingly a bad thing because they argue small businesses will be impacted.  They’ll sure as hell be affected with the two dollar tobacco tax goes into effect whenever it does.  A lot of Quickie Marts do a lot of their business in cigarettes.  And of course there are new regulations for gun owners.  It seems that magazines will be harder to reload so if you are a crazed homicidal shooter it will take you longer to reload to kill even more people.  Gun owners can only think of that sniper in your bedroom.   We’re getting more rain tonight so it could be said that the weather man is already fulfilling his Newyears resolution to end the drought.   Cory Gardener gives the Republican response address on KNX.  He’s talking about the accomplishments of this Republican congress.  We all agree we want cancer research fast-tract.  “Republicans have led the way on mental health reform and opiate addiction”.   New sanctions on North Korea were levied.  So apparently the President isn’t as intransigent as the Republicans have been claiming.  Chris was telling me this morning that the law is a funny thing.  Some people say “The law is an ass”.   Chris can’t give people rides in his car around here because is the liability award is greater than Chris’ insurance, then the people have the right to come after the owners of this place and sue them.  Of course you know what FDR says about a lot of Republican ideas.  He says mockingly “We Republicans are not opposed to all of these social and monetary reforms of the Democrats.  It’s just that we can do it better and more efficiently and most importantly- - it won’t cost Anybody Anything!” said to laughter.  So the new year brings a lot of new Do Bees and Don’t Bees, to harken back to the Romper Room days.  So I thought of comenting on the beatitudes, we’ll just call the Bee Attitudes.  After all the Sermon n the Mount is filled with a lot of Do Bees and Don’t Bees.

From "having the liberty to do anything we want" as St Paul intones, there are sure a lot of Do's and Don't in the Sermon on the Mount.  We are told that blessed are those who are peace makers for God will call them his sons.  We are told "Blessed are the poor, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven".  I'm sure Donald Trump must chafe every time he hears that one.  We are told blessed are those who morn.  They will be comforted.  We are told "Blessed are those who are persecuted for My sake".   We all like to think of people will put their lives and reputation on the line for a good cause.  Unfortunately protestors these days get scared off pretty easily.  And the ones who hang in there during bad weather, Norman Goldman refers to as fools.  We were told when the weather got cold that this is the reason why the "Occupy Wall Street" movement withered away.  This is where we originally heard about the 99 percent and the one percent back in the fall of 2011.  Rather than be praised for their tenacity by the media- - - they were either ignored or portrayed as a rag tag bunch of nothings.  Jesus said "Don't fear him who has the power to kill the body but do nothing to the soul.  Rather fear Him who has the power to kill both the body and the soul".  I don't know if Jesus is revering to the Devil this point or who.  We are told a lot of things.  We are told to turn the other cheek.  Foreign policy could never be conducted that way.  We are told if a man sues you and takes your coat, give him your cloak also.  This assumes people wore suit and coats all the time but only put their outer overcoat on during the dead of winter.  We are told that if someone compels you to walk one mile with him and carry his pack, then go with him two miles.  Presunably this is said because you'll have more of an oppertunity to witness to him.  We are told not to pray in public.  We are to pray in our secret chamber where we will not be seen.  We are told not to use flowery language when we pray to be a show-off but rather to pray directly and humbly for the things we need.  And we are told "Whatever you ask for in my name- - I will grant it".  We all would dearly love for that one to be true.  We are told "Ask, seek, knock" because to every man who asks he will get an answer.  However if there is a three AM knock on the door and the guy says "Go away" and you keep knocking you are taking an awful risk with your friendship.  As Dr Phil would say, "You just raised the price of poker".  Either there will be a pay-off at the end and you will be given the things you need- - or else your friendship is very much at risk.  I do not suggest that we put Jesus to the test on this one.  I think there are a lot of areas where literally following Jesus' example is risky.

We have yet another rock compilation for you.  I’m not talking about a collection of igneous rocks.  There are so many of these rock compilations you love track of them after a while but this one, an expanded Two CD version of “Trail Mix” is out today.   CD one is identical to the version out on April 20th of 2015.   Many at the Federation have been wanting to do “Celebration of the Lizard” by the Doors for a long time.  Both of these CD’s are kind of a tribute to the year 1970.   The front photo is sort of cut out letters of “Trail” and “Mix” cocked slightly to the left and the letters are made up of granola.   They are on an olive green backdrop.  On the back is a photo of Planet Earth and some technical production credits in small print.  On the inside are the song listings for both CD’s.   It’s actually mostly a picture booklet of various photos mainly of either rock festivals or else protests occurring from the years 1970 and 1971 but Woodstock is not included.    Many of the tracks on Disc Two were originally on “In Vetro Disasters” released on May 13th of 2015, which is a secret Romulan holiday, if you’re curious.  We kicked off four Mc Cartney songs.  The first two songs we kicked off now kick off the revised “Best of Mc Cartney”, which I am inform this compilation with the new song line-up has existed since January of 2016 about the time as our “Ringo” album.   There is still a lot of Paul Mc Cartney on this album, but not as much as there was.   There is also kind of a thematic slap at Alcyonne for all of the curses they have caused over the years.  Jimi Hendrix is a Lanian, which in a way is kind of “Getting along with the dark side of the Force”.   This track appeared as the first track on side two of “War Heroes” an album which is probably out of print now.  Yoco Ono is also a Lanian.  So is the University of Oregon.   When I heard “Vanilla Sky” I thought of one of these Fancy Feast catfood commercials where the cat eats cat food out of a crystal glass bowl.  Actually Disc Two has thirteen songs.  We gave two Mother’s Day songs the axe because I’m told “We didn’t know about the deaths of Carrie Fisher and Debby Reynolds when we were putting this album together”.   I don’t think it’d have made any difference.  The two that run together are “The One You Wanted to Be” and “Dress Me Up As a Robber” were originally listed as different tracks on “Tug of War”.   * This track can be found on the Bob Dylan Bootleg CD series near the end of Disk two.

So What Is The Truth About "Meeting God"?

I guess the only really “good” so called scientific evidence one needs to determine the truth about an encounter with God, is whether or not it will make a good movie plot.  For instance we “learn” from the “Oh God” movies that God makes mistakes.  He made man and woman sexually ashamed about their own nudity.  And he also made the avocado pit too big.  Then we have the movie about a steam bath with men and women wrapped only in towels and God is a Latino dressed in a towel also.  And this one woman was saying “Why did I have to die just after I had my first orgasm?”  And this is a god who arbitrarily metes out both blessings and penalties on sort of a quota basis and then he goes “That’s enough for right now”.   So I should explain what it’s like to be dead in terms that would spark a movie producer’s imagination.  I have said that when you are on the “other side” (of the engram wall) that you become pure CAUSE and you are transported out of this present world of EFFECT.  But then I asked myself what makes this a world of EFFECTS and not causes?   Well part of it is that everybody responds to events that just seem to “happen” often without adequate explanation, things like Donald Trump’s election.  But then I got to thinking the one power dead people may have is one we attribute to angels and demons.  That is “putting thoughts in people’s minds”.   Sometimes they’re nice about and identify themselves.  And they don’t compel you but merely make definite suggestions.   But sometimes I imagine if they don’t want to be so “nice” then they won’t identify themselves and they won’t make it a matter of discretionary moral choice either.  They won’t merely plant a strong notion or idea in your mind.  They will go right to the subconscious like a post hypnotic suggestion and you will find yourself doing things and you have no actual idea or explanation why you are doing them.  I happened to think of last Sunday’s program and surely the greatest divide between CAUSE and EFFECT would be the computer programmer and the computer program.  The program has no will of its own.  No matter how intelligent it appears to be when run on the computer- - the program lacks an original thought of its own.  How many of you creative types feel there days when “I haven’t got an original thought in my mind”.    Every conclusion or decision a program comes to is programmed into it ahead of time.  But wouldn’t you like to be the guy who is, for instance, programming Donald Trump’s brain.  I have had fleeting ideas of praying for Trump or some might say “preying for Trump” that God would put only responsible thoughts into his mind so that he didn’t screw up the country.  You have no doubt this would make a good movie plot and even a better series.  I could easily imagine coming up with thirty hour long episodes.  Perhaps this notion of programming people’s mind all in advance so that you have your “menu for today” of what you would like the people around you to be doing - - - would get tiresome after say six or seven months of seeing nothing but TV plots on the subject.  But it opens up the question of power point earning like if you have five blue merit cards you can trade them in for one red cards, and red cards give you more power over more people.  And people would buy and sell and exchange these merit cards to have the right or “sell the right” to get power over people.  Some may ask “Why would you voluntarily give up the right to control the minds of your enemies?  Oh, I don’t know- - perhaps sex with seventy-two virgins or something.  There are all sorts of possibilities here in the land of CAUSE - - but don’t put your chessboard away yet.   I believe there are a lot of psychic chess matches.

In 1980 President Jimmy Carter put sanctions on wheat to Russia because they invaded Afghanistan.  The Republicans were against both this and the boycotting of the Moscow Olympics.  So in this current day and age we find President Obama getting tough with Russia yesterday and it isn’t going over very well in the Trump administration.  President Trump is just going to undo whatever sanctions President Obama slapped on Russia yesterday.  The President also kicked out three dozen diplomats and other people.  Now there is talk that Putin will take reprisals on the Americans for what the President did yesterday.  He can’t win for losing.  The latest news is that Putin won’t deport US diplomats from Russia.  He is doing this to cultivate good relations with President elect Trump.  It’s as though Trump’s already president.  He makes these deals with companies to keep jobs and is taking credit because the stock market is up ten percent since his election.  And as we have said before- - every glimmer of hope gets crushed by reality.  I don’t know about this three hour window the democrats have to confirm Justice Meric Garland to the High Court.  Thom Hartman says “If it were the Republicans they wouldn’t think twice about doing it, but the democrats aren’t that smart.  It’s legal to do but the democrats won’t do it”.   The next “ray of hope” will be that is Trump’s ascension to office will be marred by scads of protests all over the country and that somehow “this time” the media will cover it, when we know from experience they don’t cover protests except to give them bad press.  We are going to hear the media saying nothing but nice things about President Trump when he is inaugurated.
I’m going to check Washington’s blog right now.  Here it goes.  After coming under attack, the alternative media successfully appropriated and reassigned the now ubiquitous term “fake news” to a variety of disingenuous mainstream media outlets. The corporate media is not too happy about this, and it’s doing what it does best (aside from cheerleading for war); it’s whining about it to its readers.  Nothing more perfectly highlights the mainstream media’s instinctual response to complain than an article published on Christmas Day in The New York Times, which reinvents history by claiming alternative media is to blame for turning “fake news” into an overly expansive and thus meaningless term.   Once again the ones telling the truth are the ones criticized.  Don't dare accuse so called left wing news outlets of being the perveyors of "fake news".  Don't call the concencus of seven intelligence agencies about Russia and the CIA as being "fake news".  Don't accuse 97% of the world's scientists who believe Global Warming is a reality-- don't accuse them of fake news.  And I still say that Trump's mental state is at least questionable.  And others on the right used to agree with me.  But Trump has cast a spell over them all now so that people that formerly said horrible things about him now march in lock step behind him.
“Trail Mix” is another of our albums that have been hyped by the Federation these past few days.  This is unchanged on content from the original of April 20th 2015.  There are only about two overlaps.  These are “One of Nature’s Children” overlapping with that Marcus’s Picks album just released, and also “What’s Going On” by Marvyn Gaye from “Soul Train” of whatever it’s called from May of 2006.   In terms of “The Best of the Middle” this one has been dropped everywhere except as a Romulan import, and the title has been changed to “He Didn’t Notice that the Lights had Changed”.   The album is selling well on Regelus V.  Today is December 30, 2016 and we have rain.  Stephanie Miller was once again in reruns, and so was in reruns the entire week.  Thom Hartman is just coming on.  The Republicans are now touting the “Replace” portion of “Repeal and Replace” as “Universal Access”.  It’s like you have the right to buy a Mazeratti but don’t hang around the dealership too long without being prepared to talk seriously about forking over a little mullah and buying a car.  The Republicans have a two part adage of “Number one: Don’t get sick.”  And number two is. “And if you do get sick die quickly”.   There is a persistent rumor that once Trump becomes president the government is going to destroy the vast amount of work they’d done in global warming research.  Now they are scrambling to preserve as much of that data as they can.  Of course they already have a statute that the government can’t keep information on the physical and mental damage done by the polifferation of firearms.  Their adage seems to be “See no evil, hear no evil, say no evil’ like the three not-so-wise monkeys.  Thom Hartman speaks of danger signals the economy has been sending out as of late that we are about to enter another recession.  Mortgage rates have already begun to climb significantly.  We have rain this morning.  We’ve had four inches before this latest storm in the month of December and it’s the most sustained rain period we’d have since 2010 – 2011 turn of the year.  And this comports with my memories.  One good thing is that this lame duck congress never got around to passing the Trans Pacific Partnership.  Good.

One idea definitely presents itself.  The first two pieces on the Best of Mc Cartney 2 CD album of late June of 2014 has two songs that aren’t from the solo record era.  The obvious solution is to put MUMBO and I CAN SEE THE WORLD TONIGHT by way of substitution for the first two tracks.  So far the powers that be haven’t given thumbs up on it.

Things We Should Already Know

Powerful Entities Really DO Know, but Like to think We're Stupid

We’ve known for 5,000 years that mass spying on one’s own people is usually aimed at grabbing power and crushing dissent, not protecting us from bad guys.

We’ve known for 4,000 years that debts need to be periodically written down, or the entire economy will collapse. And see this.

We’ve known for 2,500 years that prolonged war bankrupts an economy.

We’ve known for 2,000 years that wars are based on lies.

We’ve known for 1,900 years that runaway inequality destroys societies. … and leads to revolution.

We’ve known for 1,700 years that torture is a form of terrorism.

We’ve known for thousands of years that debasing currencies leads to economic collapse.

We’ve known for millenia that – when criminals are not punished – crime spreads.

We’ve known for thousands of years that the rich and powerful try to censor their critics under the guise of heresy.

We’ve known for hundreds of years that the failure to punish financial fraud destroys economies, as it destroys all trust in the financial system.

We’ve known for centuries that monopolies and the political influence which accompanies too much power in too few hands are dangerous for free markets.

We’ve known for hundreds of years that companies will try to pawn their debts off on governments, and that it is a huge mistake for governments to allow corporate debt to be backstopped by government.

We’ve known for centuries that powerful people – unless held to account – will get together and steal from everyone else.

We’ve known for hundreds of years that standing armies and warmongering harm Western civilization.

We’ve known for over 300 years that going into debt to pay for war ruins any nation.

We’ve known for 200 years that allowing private banks to control credit creation eventually destroys the nation’s prosperity.

We’ve known for two centuries that a fiat money system – where the money supply is not pegged to anything real – is harmful in the long-run.

We’ve known for 200 years that a two-party system quickly becomes corrupted.

We’ve known for over a century that torture produces false and useless information.

We’ve known since the 1930s Great Depression that separating depository banking from speculative investment banking is key to economic stability. See this, this, this and this.

We’ve known for 80 years that inflation is a hidden tax.

We’ve known for 79 years that war is a racket that benefits the elites but harms everyone else.

We’ve known since 1988 that quantitative easing doesn’t work to rescue an ailing economy.

We’ve known since 1993 that derivatives such as credit default swaps – if not reined in – could take down the economy. And see this.

We’ve known since 1998 that crony capitalism destroys even the strongest economies, and that economies that are capitalist in name only need major reforms to create accountability and competitive markets.

We’ve known since 2007 or earlier that lax oversight of hedge funds could blow up the economy.

And we knew before the 2008 financial crash and subsequent bailouts that:
The easy credit policy of the Fed and other central banks, the failure to regulate the shadow banking system, and “the use of gimmicks and palliatives” by central banks hurt the economy
Anything other than (1) letting asset prices fall to their true market value, (2) increasing savings rates, and (3) forcing companies to write off bad debts “will only make things worse”
Bailouts of big banks harm the economy
The Fed and other central banks were simply transferring risk from private banks to governments, which could lead to a sovereign debt crisis

Postscript: Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it … and we’ve known that for a long time.

Is Donald Trump Mentally Incompetent To Be President?

Norman Goldman was musing about whether the 25th Amendment of the Constitution would ever come into play with President Trump.  So many people say he’s a classic sociopath, which is maybe a “condition” if not an actual psychiatric illness.  He is driven by the guiding principle of “When I want something I go out and take it with total disregard to either the rights or the wants of his neighbors.  Of course this is what so many of the very wealthy are like.  The say it would work is the 25th Amendment provides a body to be legislated into existence by congress and this body could send a letter to the leaders of the House and Senate saying that the President is incompetent to exercise his duties of the office of President and must by law step down.  Presumably this would be “until such time as the President is again able to assume the duties of the office”.   We’ve all heard of this deal struck where Vice President Mike Pence would actually be running the day to day affairs of the country anyhow.  If this sounds like some desperate ploy of us liberals perhaps it is.  We’re desperate all right.  We had thoughts of somehow influencing the Electoral College and those plans fell flat on their face.

When one watches Donald Trump's convention speech one sees the fascist appeal of it continually speaking of public danger and how he will be our protector.  He says "That's government's job to protect the public from all of these dark threats looming everywhere.  Next is the promise of a fantastic future.  Trump thinks he's already president the way he announces the saving of all these US jobs.  But we neglect to see the downside of Trump's message at our peril.  We all know what the Republican rich want is a cleptocracy.  They want to steal from the poor and give to the rich.  Ronald Reagan's "great tax reform bill" of 1986, the one they are most proud of, takes from the working class and gives to the rich.  The substitute for Thom Hartman today was mentioning medicare.  And we know the Republicans didn't really "choose" Donald Trump.  They chose Paul Ryan and they did that in the fall of 2015.  And they liked and chose Paul Ryan because Ryan wants to dismantle not just Obamacare but even more importantly Medicare.  That's a pool of potential insurance money they can't wait to get their hands on.  Many of these Republicans are so indebted and loyal to corporations they forget who they are working for and who voted them- - technically into office.  Their tenure of government service is merely an apprenticeship to what they really want to do and that is to be lobbyists.  They want to abolish Social Security because all that money could be better invested with stock brokers and Wall Street insiders and manipulators.  Charles Linburgh in an interview once said the Federal Reserve wields more power than any set of human beings should ever be trusted with in our constitutional form of government.  They have the power to make the economy crash at will and they could do it right now if they wanted to.  The talk show host said that Social Security is 99% efficient in handling our FICA payments and 99% of that money comes back to the people who paid into it.  (and often much more than that)  No private insurance company is thatr efficient with their funds and the same goes for Wall Street banksters.  They want to weaken medicare by stripping out the upcoming base of the young which will be coming up.  If you get rid of future payers then even if the payments are preserved for those over 55 or whatever, then the system is doomed.  Liberals want to do just the opposite.  They want to expand medicare to move the age younger and younger so that we eventually have single payer, which is the most efficient system.

Now we hear that Debby Reynolds, mother of Carrie Fisher- - passed away today one day after her daughter passed away.  When has such a mother-daughter double death occurred like this?  But I don't agree that Carrie Fisher "needed to lose weight" to play the part of Princess Leah.  I've seen photos of Princess Leah where she appears almost anerexic.  Apparently the part of Princess Leah was a pioneer role for aspiring young females.  Of course Captain Kathryn Janeway was a macho woman who was fully in control of the ship she captained on Deep Space 9.

One Taco Short of a Combo (Trump’s Convention Speech excerpt) 10:10 edited

The front photo of the latest Sirius A album- - out in vinyl and CD- - is of a “Tacoria” taco place and there is one line (to the left) with the lead customer being handed a combo plate and there is a line to the right where the customer still hasn’t been served. Hillary is standing between these two lines eating a taco. The title “One Taco Short of a Combo” refers not to Donald Trump’s mental state but rather that Hillary was “Eating” Sander’s votes- - votes which Bernie Sanders would have gotten for President on Tuesday. On the bottom of the back of the album are the popular vote tallies from 2016 and 2012. It so happens that Romney got more votes than did Trump. Romney got sixty million votes and Trump got not quite sixty thousand votes being high in the 59’s. The rest of the back is kind of an off white background with the album contents listed in fairly big letters.

The preceding was transcribed from November.  If anyone on this planet at least is going to listen to the “One Taco Short” album of ours from November we’re going to have to change the last track. And so we have settled on something and it happens to work out exactly right time-wise. This is a portion of Donald Trump’s convention speech. It’s the portion from 4:00 to 14:30. Here are the topics he covers. First there is an extended bit on “safety in the streets” and then Trump goes on to talk about Immigration. Then he speaks of the economy and minority unemployment. Then he covers the horrible treaty he says we made with Iran on nuclear diarmlement. Finally he speaks of the “red line in the sand” drew in Syria and Trumps “And we know that meant absolutely nothing”. It’s amazing how close the time is.  We had twenty seconds of cheering by the partisan crowd to work with.  To edit out.

In other items, Elizabeth doesn’t me wearing my red jacket into the dining room because she and Federico say it’s too dirty.  Are they saying that I’m dirtier than anyone else here?  It also happens to be my warmest jacket.   My readership numbers in my blogs still aren’t what they ought to be.  I have Norman Goldman on right now.  Ron has really been generous with the cigarettes and just now I got one from Paul.   I went for refreshments from Rico in the courtyard and had two cups of lemonade.

I guess I have a resolution or two I want to make this year.  I would like to be more spontaneous and generous both materially but emotionally than I have tended to be.  It is also my goal to quit smoking as of January first.  Of course if rumor has it right, the hike in tobacco taxes won’t take place till April first.  That would give me three months but I don’t need that much time to stall in my resolve.  The sooner I quit the better.  I have only one day to go before I get paid and people have been generous with their white cigarettes.  This includes Ron, Glenda, and Bill.  I appreciate that.  But I would also like to be more organized.  I really should clean out the dresser because it’s too stuffed with clothes I don’t wear.  I’ll probably be getting more clothes to put in it.  But I’d also like to provide a better organized front to my blog readers.  I guess if I always spelled names correctly and spoke in perfect grammar maybe I would gain a little more respectability, even if it’s self respectability.  I also desperately need to organize topics into an appropriate blog.  This is a hell of a lot easier said than done.  The least I could do is to provide links like Washington’s blog does to ease the learning curve for my readers, if they happen not to be familiar with the background on something.  I’ll give an example.  This spiral staircase thing.  The conception was that they were twelve by thirteen by five triangles and each succeeding one was about 22 degrees to the right of the previous one and it would be 13/12th larger than the previous one.  I came up with those numbers a long time ago.  If people have a problem with the words I use I realize they need certain terms defined better and links would help here.
